Touch Cruise is the smartphone with GPS function

HTC Touch CRUISE

HTC, a manufacturer of Windows Mobile-based smartphones, Monday inaugurated the Touch Cruise with built-in GPS for navigation personnel and 3G technologies for high-speed Internet access. The Touch Cruise is the third smartphone to be launched by HTC, as part of its product line Touch, which includes the touch-screen and only Touch Touch Dual combined with a touch screen and keyboard.

Like the other models, the Touch Cruise contains HTC’s TouchFLO technology for navigating through the menu of the phone with a finger sliding. It makes it easier to browse and browse Web pages, documents, messages and contact lists. The iPhone contains similar technology developed by Apple to implement many of the same functions.

The Touch models also have a “home” screen that resembles the iPhone home screen, which shows a touch access icons for e-mail, text messaging, calendar, contacts, weather, and others.

But the smartphone of HTC is a better choice for those who require high-speed Internet access. In addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which contains High Speed Downlink Packet Access, a 3G cell technology that typically offers downstream data rates up to 1 Mbps. By way of comparison, the iPhone technology EDGE offers downstream data rates up to 200 Kbps.

What makes the Touch Cruise different from other models of HTC is its built-in GPS function to find directions, locating restaurants and other services, and the creation of alternate routes when there is traffic. It also comes with mapping software and navigation TomTom, a supplier of GPS systems.

The Touch Cruise uses Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Professional operating system with Outlook “direct push” enterprise e-mail. Other features include a 3-megapixel with automatic focus, FM radio, MP3 player, and a microSD memory card that supports up to 128 MB of random access memory.

The smartphone will be available from this month. HTC not disclose information on prices.
